Domino de La peseta Roble 2006
Types of vine: 60% Monastrell, Tempranillo 40%
Alcohol: 14%
The peseta was the official currency of Spain during the 20th century. The vines which produced this wine were actually planted to the middle of the 20th century. The vineyards are on the northern side of the "Sierra Salinas", an area characterized by the rocky and deep orange grounds where rain is scarce. The grapes are small and produce a concentrated wine. After the fermentation is finished in stainless containers, the wine spends 3 months in new barrels made of French and American oak.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Depth crimson red with a ruby red edge. There are feelings of raspberry compote and ripe fruits in the nose. With an elegant final with smells of middle sea fruits.
Awards:
Commended, International Wine Challenge 2007, UK
